Equine dentistry L. Pequin-method
(occlusion treatment)
- goal: contact, mobility and balance in the dentition of the horse
- the method uses the following steps:
- preliminary report
- examination and set up from a individual examination sheet
- sedation appropriate to the processing time
- creation of a physiological occlusion in the dentition (might need more then one treatment)
- manual and sight check of the dentition at the end of the treatment
- in some cases aftertreatment threw a equine clinic or osteopathy could be necessary
- after the sedation a 2 hour abstinence from food is important!
